Meet Victoria
Victoria’s teaching combines strong technique with curiosity, encouragement, and attention to each student’s goals. Some discover the harp as a new hobby after becoming empty nesters; others prepare music for worship in their congregations or work toward orchestral performance. Her students have gone on to teach, perform at weddings and special events, and make music a lifelong part of their lives—sometimes beginning a new family legacy. Victoria teaches both Celtic and pedal harp and welcomes students at every stage of their musical journey.
Her own musical path includes study and mentorship with teachers from Juilliard. She has taught at Colorado’s Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival and led harp retreats in Colorado Springs and Ireland, where students can immerse themselves in Celtic harp.
For Victoria, the harp opens a door to more than music. Traditional melodies carry the histories of people and places; songs can hold family memories and give shape to stories that are hard to put into words. Playing can also offer a quiet, restorative space for focus and emotional expression—one reason the harp can feel therapeutic as well as creative. In her studio, students explore not only how to play, but what music can help them remember, express, and share with others.
Victoria Lidmark is a pedal and Celtic harp instructor and the founder of Victoria’s School of Harp in Colorado Springs. As a performer, teacher, and composer, she has guided hundreds of students from their first notes to confident musicianship and performance.
Life beyond the harp
Away from the harp, Victoria lives in Colorado’s Black Forest, where she and her family care for their small ranch filled with horses, rescued mountain goats, alpacas, peacocks, and other animals. Family is at the heart of her life, and music is part of that bond: her children and grandchildren share her love of the harp and inspire her work.
